A History of Russian Music Sold Out
Thursdays, 2 - 4 pm
February 21 - April 11

We will chart the breathtaking ascent of classical music in Russia beginning with the reign of Catherine the Great. Galloping onward from Glinka to Mussorgsky to Tchaikovsky to Stravinsky to Shostakovich, we will explore the incredible rise and unfortunate fall, after the Bolshevik Revolution and Stalin's rule, of Russian classical music, from 1762 to 1975. Eight sessions, $190.

Stephen Kleiman holds an M.M. in composition from the University of Michigan. An orchestra conductor in Europe and former music director of the National Chamber Orchestra in Washington, D.C., his CD "Chamber Music of Stephen Kleiman," will be released in this spring.
